Random thoughts on google and it's place in the global network
Today I've made a general research about the companies, which actually own one big part of the wide web and the facts really amazed me. So this make me realize what actually stands for "Google". We all know that Google has been buying up a lot of repositories which actually represent a huge amount of digital information. For example when we think of Google Earth, YouTube, DejaNews... they are all like a big library of data which is kept, maintained and extended by the google's team.
One fun thing is that google's services can be very flexible. The idea to be more efficient is not only to store, but also to magnet all what is necessary and the practice proves this in a very persuasive way. Maybe this is the reason for the success of projects (not owned by google) like wikipedia or the internet archive, because they are based on a similar principles.
